Franschhoek, South Africa
750ml |13.5% ABV | Screwtop
Grape Variety: Viognier
This rare blend begins with an enticing aroma of honeysuckle, green apple, and lemon along with pleasant notes of white flowers.
The wine tastes a bit creamy and oaky on the palate with tons of rich flavors. In the mouth, it has similar fruit to the nose along with hints of baking spice. Some stony minerality leads into the crisp, dry and long finish. This is an intriguing blend that has quite a bit of complexity to it.
Terroir: The Viognier comes from a dry land vineyard in Malmesbury, the Chenin blanc from Stellenbosch and the grenache blanc from Piekenierskloof near Citrusdal.
Vinification: The Chenin blanc and grenache blanc are matured in French oak barrels before being blended with the Viognier. The blended wine is then cold stabilized, filtered and bottled.
