Ocho Tequila Extra Anejo 2012

Product of Mexico

750ml / 40% ABV

Tequila Ocho is made by Carlos Camarena, a third-generation Tequilero, in partnership with Tomas Estes. This dynamic partnership delivers heritage and tradition, coupled with innovation. Carlos and Tomas produce tequila that is made slowly in an artisanal way. The result is a fine quality spirit that accentuates the agave flavour. It is concentrated and complex while remaining balanced and easy to drink.

Tequila Ocho demonstrates that “terroir” exists in agave. Ocho’s single estates show through their distinct aroma and character. Tequila Ocho opens up and develops in the glass the same way a fine wine does.

Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the agave was harvested as is done with fine wines. Each estate, or “rancho” produces a limited amount of agave, each vintage of Ocho is both rare and collectible.

Aged in ex-American Whiskey barrels for three years. Presented in a custom wood box. Made with 100% Blue Agave.

  • Color: yellow gold with green highlights.
  • Nose: fine, rich. Delicately vanilla, it is remarkably fruity (pear, plum). It evolves on notes of green olive. As time goes by, the salt is deposited on fruits that have become dry (almond, date). Some spices arrive in high point (gray pepper, cloves).
  • Palate: ample, concentrated. The agave is of a minerality on the skin (clay, tufa). Salt is its corollary. The mid-palate is full of exoticism (lime, passion). Aniseed and mentholated flavors give it a lot of freshness. A small note of tar appeared.
  • Final: long, caressing. Finely tannic (citrus zest), its bitterness is invigorating (gentian root, verbena). It extends on toffee, raisins and pastry notes (brioche). In retro-olfaction, the agave is revealed with incredible precision, it is coated with salt and cut hay.
