93 Points Wine & Spirits Magazine

About half Garnacha, the rest is a mix of syrah, merlot, cariñena, and cabernet, this is blended from the fruit of eight vineyards in different villages of Priorat. Smoky and generous in sweet spice, it feels simultaneously exotic and tremendously fruity, almost as intense as ripe blackberries and raspberries in syrup. It’s big and impressive, ready now for lamb tagine.
October 2017.

The Garnacha and Cariñena grapes are from 90+ year old vines, while Merlot comes from 20-year-old vines. The grapes undergo a 48-hour pre-fermentation cold soak followed by temperature-controlled fermentation be¬tween 24° to 26° celsius in small stainless steel vats and macerated for a 25-day period. Aged in 20% new and 80% 1-year-old French Allier oak barrels for 12 months.

The grapes for this wine come from 8 different vineyards in the towns of La Morera, Torroja and Poboleda, with different exposures, soils, and climates.

Pair with Middle eastern spiced dishes, Moroccan spiced lamb ribs, and roasted potatoes. Braised shanks and mash, or beef and burgundy pie.
