A celebration of Canadian excellence – the label on this wine reads “Sorry” on the front, and “Not Sorry” on the back. A statement which speaks to the quality of VQA wine being something Canadians should be wildly proud of, and unapologetic for. On the nose, there are aromas of ripe red currants, red cherry, black fig, vanilla bean and leather. A beautiful balance of flavours such as ripe red cherry, currants and spices. The bold and refined tannin structure leads to a long, complex finish.
Two years (2013 & 2014) of harsh winters resulted in a slightly reduced harvest for the 2015 vintage. The grapes were smaller in size resulting in a higher skin to juice ratio. This produced a wine with deep colour and complex flavours. A portion of the harvest was set aside and dried for 60 days before being pressed. This wine then spent 18 months maturing in select French and American oak barrels. Enjoy now after a lengthy decant, or continue to cellar through to the year 2025.
Pair this wine with NY striploin or porterhouse steak with peppercorn sauce, grilled portobello mushrooms, venison, firm and blue cheeses, dark chocolate or a fine cigar. Enjoy now after a lengthy decant. This wine will continue to develop in your cellar through to the year 2025.
