Ocho Tequila Anejo 2014

Product of Mexico

750ml / 40% ABV

Tequila Ocho is made by Carlos Camarena, a third-generation Tequilero, in partnership with Tomas Estes. This dynamic partnership delivers heritage and tradition, coupled with innovation. Carlos and Tomas produce tequila that is made slowly in an artisanal way. The result is a fine quality spirit that accentuates the agave flavour. It is concentrated and complex while remaining balanced and easy to drink.

Tequila Ocho demonstrates that “terroir” exists in agave. Ocho’s single estates show through their distinct aroma and character. Tequila Ocho opens up and develops in the glass the same way a fine wine does.

Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the agave was harvested as is done with fine wines. Each estate, or “rancho” produces a limited amount of agave, each vintage of Ocho is both rare and collectible.

Aged in ex-American Whiskey barrels for three years. Presented in a custom wood box. Made with 100% Blue Agave.

  • Appearance: greenish gold.
  • Nose: fine, mellow. Salt and agave jostle for attention. Before things turn sour, lime manages to reconcile the two. Pepper, sweet almond and star anise then take over. Vanilla, pecan nut and lightly toasted woody notes beautifully illustrate the twelve months
  • Palate: tender, creamy. The omnipresent agave is incredibly refined here. Salt lingers long after the spices have faded. It becomes exotic (lychee, persimmon), earthy (clay) and praline (Nougat). Dried fruits can also be identified (macadamia nuts, dates).
  • Overall: rich, persistent. Deeply rooted in the soil (gentian, ginseng). Mango makes a brief yet spectacular appearance, releasing the fragrances to come.
