Bottled under screwcap and a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot all from Howell Mountain, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate offers serious intensity and depth in its black, black fruits, scorched earth, charcoal and smoke tobacco-like aromas and flavors. Ripe, concentrated and tannic, it's one good looking Cabernet Sauvignon that needs forgotten for 4-5 years and enjoyed over the following 15+ years.   (12/2017)

Cade's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is rich, sumptuous and alluring. The purity and intensity of the fruit is striking. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, menthol, licorice and violet are some of the many notes that emerge from the glass. Above all else, the 2015 has quite a bit of detail and nuance for such a big wine. This is an especially fruity, lush style for Howell Mountain, but it works nicely. Time in the glass brings out more red-toned character as well as a floral element that is not evident at first.   The 2015s, which are somewhat surprisingly already in bottle, include the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate that is an identical blend to the 2014. The wine is dense ruby/purple, plump, juicy and fleshy with plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit. It cuts an even bigger mouth-texture and richness than its older sibling. This is a beauty to drink over the next 12-15 years. (RP)   (12/2016)

Dark, plush and powerful, with extracted tannins and dark berry, cedar, earth and crushed rock flavors, yet for all the torque here, there’s a seam of elegance making this enjoyable now. (JL)   (6/2018)

Aromas of boysenberry jam, blueberry compote, wild lavender, chocolate covered cherries, roasted coffee, rose petals ripple through your senses with a kiss of graham crackers and toasted marshmallow. Velvety on the palate with a satin mouthfeel with bold skyscraper tannins. The finishing flavors are echoes of the initial aromas, with warm cherry pie, cran-raspberry jam, coco nibs, toasted cinnamon, fresh strawberry and raspberry coulis.
Pairs nicely with a filet mignon or your favorite steak.
