Winemaker Notes
Located in the northwest part of the appellation, with vines chiefly in Cabrieres, Maucoil, and Mont Redon, Laurent Charvin makes one of the most elegant and seamless Châteauneuf-du-Papes . He farms all his 9ha Chateauneuf-du-Pape parcels organically. This is a wine that can age 20 years from any vintage as well as be accessible quite young with just a little breathing.
Critical Acclaim

This is gorgeous, featuring rosemary-infused cassis, tobacco leaf and savory notes out front, followed by lush plum and blackberry fruit accents. The structure is pebbly in feel but well-integrated, with a smoldering lavender hint lining the finish. Should blossom with cellaring. Best from 2017 through 2026.

The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape came across as classic and very traditional on this showing, with a firm, structured feel that will benefit from short term cellaring. Offering up notes of kirsch, Asian spice, licorice and ground herbs, it has bright acidity, solid concentration and an elegant, lengthy feel. Give it another couple years and enjoy bottles through 2027.
