SAMSARA CARGASACCHI PINOT NOIR
More fruit-driven, the 2011 Pinot Noir Cargassachi Vineyard is gorgeous all around. Crushed flowers, cherry, crushed berries and spice all emerge here and this shows fantastic integration and length on the palate. Aged in 25% new French oak, enjoy this polished beauty over the coming 7-8 years. Drink now-2021. WA # , #208 (Aug 2013) Drink 2013 - 2021 Jeb Dunnuck
NVWE Notes: Yet another spectacular Cargasacchi Pinot from Samsara, this beauty shows a well-evolved nose centered on pomegranate, cranberry, whortleberry and pink peppercorn fruit, married to dark savory notes of humidor and forest-floor spice and peppered bouillon. On the palate, it showcases the gutsy-zesty fruit that is a signature of the vineyard, as well as plenty of earthy richness, tannin and minerality. It is opulent and juicy through an ultra-long finish, where its core of dried cranberry and pomegranate takes center stage before its peppery-savory-minerally flavors. Certain to improve for another 3 years, it will be outstanding right now with Prime Rib and the like. 85 cases produced.
